A knifeman has been shot shot dead after attacking officers in the Paris police headquarters today, French media reported. A female officer was killed and as many as five others injured in the attack in the historical centre of Paris, according to French news site Actu 17.
The report suggested it may have been a civilian worker at the headquarters who carried out the attack.

It took place near the Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of the French capital.
The premises were cordoned off around lunchtime, and emergency services were quickly at the scene.
The metro station of Cité, near the headquarters of the Paris Police, has now been shut down.
French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner is heading to the scene, French channel BFM TV reported.
